HI, I’m Almarie!
A calligrapher, fashion illustrator, hand engraver and painter, and the artist behind CalligraScriobh.
My practice takes its name from the Irish scríobh, meaning “to write” and from the very first moment I could hold a pen, writing and making beautiful things has been who I am.
I moved from Manila to Dublin in 2017 to work as a nurse. My love of lettering and colour came with me and in 2017, CalligraScriobh was born. What began as a passion became a practice: from wedding stationery to live brand activations, from racing fashion illustration to international cultural projects, my work has grown into something I could never have imagined when I first picked up a calligraphy nib.
Today, I work with luxury brands, cultural and corporate institutions, fashion events and private clients across Ireland, the UK and internationally. I have collaborated with Irish and international brands such as Max Benjamin, Sosu Comsetics, Rituals, Champagne Bollinger, Montblanc, Google, and I was the live artist at Ireland Fashion Week 2025 events.
In 2027, I will bring CalligraScriobh to Canada as part of Canada-Ireland 180 , a major cultural initiative marking 180 years of the shared history between Ireland and Canada.
My work as a nurse and my work as an artist are not as different as they might seem. Both are about presence. Both are about connection. And both, at their best, leave people feeling that something meaningful just happened.
